Hey mods! Thanks for ALL of your hard work on this auction! I'm really excited about it!

I was searching through the delicious and noticed that my offer is titled incorrectly. It ought to be Northern California in a Box not North Carolina.

I don't know how to link to the entry, but it's the first result in this search:

First off, thank you to all the mods for doing such an awesome job! I looked through the FAQs and comments, but didn't see this covered. I was wondering if we made donations now (while the auctions are still ongoing), if we could still use that amount towards any potential winning bids? I ask because many organizations could use immediate assistance and getting them the money now instead of at the end of the month could actually make a difference.

yes, this is perfectly fine. :) please ensure that the amount on the receipt(s) either matches or exceeds the winning donation amount(s). if you are making one lump-sum donation with the intention to make multiple bids, please make sure that all offerers are aware and that you provide to them a breakdown of your lump-sum donation after the end of the auction.

we'll be sure to include this in the FAQ shortly. thanks!

Thanks so much for the clarification! You might want to also edit the donation confirmation instructions so it doesn't specify restricted dates:

If you didn't use that donation receipt as confirmation for something else, it will count as long as you donated between 26-31 March.

A fantastic idea, only, having been new to this site, was there anything similar for the nation of Haiti or New Zealand in their time of peril?

Re: Offering Banners

thank you so much! we'll be sure to update the banner & icons post accordingly. :)

[edit]: my apologies regarding timetable confusion: the auction is closed to new offers on March 26 6:00 AM GMT+8, and bidding closes on March 31 6:00 AM GMT+8. if you wouldn't mind revising the banners, we'd really appreciate it.

Listing on Delicious

Hi there, I posted an offer to write a fanfic story on 16 March and when I checked today, there's still no listing on Delicious.

I've never done this kind of thing before and I don't have very much experience of using Livejournal - did I do something wrong?

Re: Listing on Delicious

Nope - nothing is wrong unless a mod has directly addressed your comment. There is just a massive amount of auctions going up and we cannot keep up with bookmarking as quickly as the auctions come in.

We're almost all caught up, and it should be up in a couple days at the latest.

Hey mods, sorry to be a pain, but I was wondering what the definite time was for closing bids? I've seen a few different times, and I'm not sure if it's just me being stupid about reading timezones (which is the most likely option). /o\

Hey sorry, but I have another question!

I just realised that I have something else to offer up for auction - a cosplay accessory that hasn't been used before. Is it too late to put up on auction? I remember reading somewhere that there'll be a lightning round, but does that include new posts? Thanks!

[info]hesselives

March 23 2011, 16:51:01 UTC 1 year ago Edited:  March 23 2011, 16:51:16 UTC

hi! what you can do is either create a new offer (under the Interesting Stuff overflow post), or amend your original offer by listing the accessory in a new comment within the same thread.

it is not yet confirmed whether we will be having future auction/lightning rounds, but we will definitely let everyone know when and if it is. :)
